Coursing
Coursing at Border Raids will be open to all breeds. The person (owner) responsible for the dog will need to sign a waiver before he/she will be allowed to release the dog during coursing. Those who wish to participate in releasing a hound will have the opportunity to do so. Those who wish to watch and enjoy the spectacle are encouraged to do so. The dogs, either singly or in pairs chase a lure (plastic bag) around a course that has been set up for this purpose. It allows the greyhounds and other breeds to show off their skill, speed and grace. Come cheer on your favorite hound. All hounds are winners in this event and enjoy the praise they receive after running a good course. Weather permitting. A prize will be awarded to the dog with the greatest spirit.
Rules of Coursing
1. Anyone wishing to take part in coursing activities must be at least 18 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by parent or guardian and the determination as to whether they can release a hound will be made by the hound master.
